BABY SHOWER

3706For someone who packed up her bags and left her family and close friends on the west-coast to be with ‘the one’, I am so grateful for the incredible amount of  love I have received from my husband’s family and our new found friends for Zayn & Reyha!

I couldn’t think of a better day to share this post than the day of the birth of our twins.

When I look at my life, there is so much to be grateful for – my husband, health, family, friends, career, and opportunities, but the one thing I feel the most grateful for is bringing two little angels into this world.  Sometimes I still feel it’s a dream that we are expecting our twins, but then a quick sweep of their hands or feet under the surface of my abdomen reminds me how real they are…and how fast time has flown by through their development.

I know as I am delivering our twins at this very moment, I will be sad to have my pregnancy end and not feel them communicate with me and each other under the surface of my growing belly. These past few months have been an eye opening experience in helping me shift my focus in life to a more positive direction. It has helped me re-evaluate on who to let in and recognize friends that surprised me by helping me through various stages of my pregnancy. It also helped me realize that I need to take life slowly and enjoy things at a gradual pace and sometimes it’s good to go with the flow…and throw out the plan once in a while.

I want to thank all of my husband’s family and our close friends for taking the time out to celebrate our upcoming first and second children. The baby shower took place at Kasa Moto and even though the restaurant is known for having an amazing selection of sushi, the event manager and staff were extremely accommodating in customizing our menu that was pregnancy safe. Especially since I wasn’t the only one expecting at the shower. For our cake, we had the talented Genevieve Finley of For The Love Of A Cake, design and create a cake that reflected the theme we had set for our nursery. Genevieve designed the cutest cake topper that consisted of a hot air balloon with the most adorable passengers on board – an elephant and a giraffe. She also created the most delicious cupcakes with the yummiest icing on top. The desserts didn’t stop there, we also had the most adorable cookies as take home keepsakes for our guests and few extras for them to indulge in during the baby shower.

The whole shower was incredibly intimate, fun and enjoyable. Honestly I couldn’t have asked for a better group of family and friends who took the time out to spend a few hours with us playing games, eating, and spending the last few moments of 2016 before they headed off to the airport to whatever exotic location they had planned.

As I share this post with all of you, I couldn’t have asked for a better day to have our twins come in to this world. You see, exactly four years ago my hubs proposed on this very day. Seems only fitting that we also bring our twins into this world on the very same day…and continue our journey together as a newly formed family.
