Spring is my favorite season of the year. The snow starts to melt, the weather gets warm, and all my favorite flowers start to come out and bloom. It’s all when I can finally shed the extra layers I need to wear to stay warm, and show a little skin. But before I can do that, I need to make sure my skin looks it’s best before I wear anything short or with spaghetti straps. After hiding from the sun in the last few months, my complexion has gotten lighter and dull. I almost look pale as a vampire (view my previous post). But before I can make a trip to the beach and get a tan, I need to prep my skin by exfoliating it. This way I can make sure my tan is not only even throughout my skin but I can take off any buildup of seabum (dead skin) I have collected in the last few months.
Now I can give myself a full body exfoliation at home with a sea-salt scrub, exfoliating gloves and finish it with an intensive moisturizer, but I know I am going to miss some areas like my back. Heck, I think I can get my whole back every now and then and dislocate my shoulder at the same time.So when I heard my favorite spa, Miraj Hammam Spa by Caudalie at the Shangri-La hotel, was offering The Cocoon Body Scrub which can help exfoliate, hydrate and nourish my skin I had to give it a whirl. I booked my appointment immediately after a fun and and stressful week at Toronto Fashion Week, and it was exactly I needed!Full disclaimer – this amazing treatment is done in the nude, but don’t worry they will supply with a disposable undergarment. I wasn’t expecting this because my usual spa appointments consists of facials and mani/pedi. So to my surprise I came in ready with my swimsuit not knowing that they would end up sitting in the locker.
The treatment began with a dry brush exfoliation with Gommage Crushed Cabernet to help wake up my skin and slough of any dry dead skin hanging around the surface. This first step helped improve the texture of my skin by evening it out and minimizing the appearance of cellulite. After being brushed from neck to toe, my skin felt incredibly smooth and soft. I was ready for the next step, deep massage and moisturizing treatment with a mixture of Caudalie’s Vine Body Butter and Contouring Concentrate followed up by a cocoon wrap.
Being wrapped in a cocoon was perfect in helping my skin absorb the nutrients delivered by the Caudalie’s Vine Body Butter and Contouring Concentrate. My skin felt soft, supple, hydrated and renewed. Plus I found during the treatment, their Contouring Concentrate held a certain secret every girl who wants to get beach ready must have.
If you use their Contouring Concentrate every day by massage into your skin after you pat it dry from your shower followed by their Draining Organic Herbal Tea, you will loose 1.5 inches around your thighs! No jokes! If you want to start getting your body beach ready, I would start out by heading to the Miraj Hammam Spa by Caudalie at the Shangri-La hotel. Get their Cocoon Body Scrub treatment to prep your skin before you go out and get that tan. After your treatment, continue using the Contouring Concentrate and Draining Organic Herbal Tea at home to help get your body looking fab by tightening and toning it for the beach.
If you are like me and suffer from dry flakey skin, the Caudalie’s Vine Body Butter is heaven sent to help hydrate and leave your skin buttery soft. Best part, your skin will absorb it incredibly fast so you don’t have to deal with leaving oil stains anywhere.
