FESTIVE FIZZ

Montellier, Drink Recipe, Super Easy Drink Sparkling Water RecipeChristmas Day has come and gone, but I’m still in a festive mood. We have New Year’s Eve coming in a few days, so what better way to celebrate the dawn of the new year than with this delicious drink I made for our annual Christmas Eve dinner.

In 2016, I drastically cut down on my intake of soda because I didn’t want it to affect my twin babies’ development. You’ve read numerous articles about how sugary sodas can lead to erosion of your tooth enamel, or saps calcium from your bones. So when we found out we were expecting, my husband and I made the conscious decision to no longer include soda on our grocery list and replaced it with sparkling water. In the summer of 2017, I discovered Montellier sparking water and started experimenting by adding various flavors (and fun) to my drink because of it’s long lasting bubbles! Montellier, Water Drink, Easy Recipe

Today I want to share a super easy and quick recipe I used for my annual Christmas Eve dinner using Montellier sparkling water. This 100% natural spring water is made in Canada and has the perfect amount of fizz to bring on the festive spirit.

4 cups of blueberries
1 cup of water
pinch of cardamom
1 cup of sugar
1.5 cup of water
a few drops of lemon juice
a small sprig of rosemary

1 cup of @MontellierCanada Sparkling Water
Combine the blueberries, cup of water, and cardamom in a saucepan. Mash the blueberries and bring the pot to a boil. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for a few minutes. Strain the contents with a cheese cloth (or strainer). You should have about 4 cups of liquid.
Add sugar and one and a half cups of water and bring to a boil. Add the blueberry juice and cook for a few minutes. Add the lemon juice and rosemary sprig for flavoring. Pour this blueberry simple syrup into a bottle to use.

Fill a glass with ice and one cup of Montellier Sparkling Water. Add 1-2 tbsp of the blueberry simple syrup. Garnish with rosemary and blueberries.
