REPEAT OFFENDER

When I don’t know what to wear or don’t have the time to put a look together, I always turn to the end of my closet and reach for something black. Why the end of my closet? Well the OCD in me has color coordinated my closet – seriously! Everything in my closet is arranged from white to black. It’s even categorized by apparel type – tops, bottoms, dresses, one piece, suits and jackets. All of it color coordinated. LAVELLE

When I dine at a restaurant, I don’t spend enough time looking up and admiring the decor. Sad isn’t it? The owner spends a great deal of time working along side with decorators to help create an environment that’s inviting with the perfect layout that entices their diners to stay and forget about walking out of their doors. INFLUENCE

We are all influenced by someone. They have the power to change us in how we view life, interact with people, and manage our career. When I first got my driver’s license, I dreamed about having an SUV as my first vehicle. Coming from the west-coast, I had a great love affair with the outdoors. I used to hike once a week, go whitewater rafting around the Squamish/Whistler area, rock climb near Squamish Rock and let’s not forget the endless bus rides I’d take to Stanley Park just so I could go for a run around the sea-wall. The outdoors was my zen and having an SUV was the perfect vehicle to hold all of my equipment so that I could run off and do what I…

PRIORITY

One of the most frequent questions I get asked by my mentees is how I manage my time. We all have 24 hours a day, 168 hours a week to our disposal. This is a lot of time, yet somehow we all comment that we don’t have enough to do what we want. After I had my twins, I was surviving on four hours of sleep a day and spent the rest of my time primarily looking after my twins, meal planning, and squeezing in a few hours for my blog. I would constantly comment to my husband that I didn’t…
