Today, I’m dreaming of Paris. After my last trip in the desert, I’m in the mood for a stroll down to L’Esplanade des Invalides to grab some madeleines while I take in the city with its series of beautiful lush green parks. Now it will be some time before I can make that dream come true, but in the meantime, I can always make a batch of Classic French Madeleines with a special twist. Why the special twist? Well, it’s for a special mom and grandma and the perfect gift for Mother’s Day.
The best part about this recipe is that it’s super easy and fast to make. As a person who struggles with baking desserts, this is one recipe I’ve mastered through the help of my close friends and that I feel confident making on my own…or with the help of my two adorable sous chefs. Oh, did I mention that they will disappear really fast?!
But today’s recipe of my Classic French Madeleine’s come with a treat – this treat is provided by my favorite ethically sourced organic chocolate from Green & Black’s. I first discovered this brand of chocolate when a friend of mine offered it to me. It was love at first bite! It’s not too sweet, incredibly smooth and rich in flavour. After I learned that it contains a high concentration of cacao, hence you get that intense rich flavor, it became our favorite brand of chocolate. Also, when it comes to creating a special treat for my mom, I will only use the first-class ingredients – that includes using only premium quality organic Milk Chocolate and White Chocolate from Green & Black.
