SAFETY

dockatotIf there is one item I wish I had before the twins were born, it would be the DockATot.

Before my babies made their grand entrance, I spent a great deal of time decorating the nursery and getting everything I needed when it came to transportation, clothes, toys, and activities that would stimulate certain areas of the brain. I also read this article on SIDS and safety recommendations for safe infant sleeping from the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Fast forward a few weeks later and I’ve developed a bad habit of sleeping in bed with my twins. It was so easy to become hooked, watching my little angels sleep beside me and cover their faces, hands, and soft feet with kisses, how could I be expected to stop this habit? Plus, they have the cutest snore in the world. It didn’t take long before I started to feel exhausted because I was sleeping with one eye open to make sure I didn’t crush them in bed. I needed something that would allow me the luxury to sleep with my glo worms in bed but at the same time keep them safe.5502

I heard about DockATot from a fellow mom and she couldn’t stop raving about it. I went on their website and fell head over heels in love with the concept and design. As an engineer and an entrepreneur, I’m surprised I didn’t think of this product idea before.

I saw numerous testimonials from parents commenting on how their babies were happy lounging, playing, and resting in their docks. It didn’t take long before I got my hands on two DockATot with the cutest prints – Mrs. Mighetto Night, Night  and Lovely Day.

I got the DockATot’s when they were a month old and we have used it every single day. The difference has been immense. I love the fact that I can have my twins snuggled safely in their docks while they are in bed with me. Plus I don’t have to sleep with one eye open in fear of crushing them. The docking station creates a safe and comfortable ring around them keeping my glo worms protected.

I love the fact that I can take the docks with me around the house. I’ve been spending a lot of time playing in the family room with them, using various toys to stimulate their visual cortex and test out their depth perception. By the middle of the second month, I got back into blogging. It was a treat to have my twins with me in my office with their DockATots. I could keep an eye on them while they slept and at the same time write this post.5302

Plus, if your babies are anything like mine, you are going to need to clean the covers of your DockATot quite frequently. My son’s DockATot cover gets thrown into the wash every second-third day because he drools all over it (literally, I’m not exaggerating). It’s super easy to unzip the cover and throw it in the wash. Another bonus, the material is super light so it only takes a couple minutes to air dry before I slip the cover back on.

Other than the design, I am obsessed with the Mrs. Mighetto covers I got.. I mean come on, they are super cute! I love that they are covered with hot air balloons. If you have seen my Instagram Story, you know that the twins nursery has three hot air balloons floating in the corner. This is to pay tribute to the first big kid book I read – Around the World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne. So when I saw this design, it was love at first sight! I had to have them both, one for my daughter and the other for my son.5503If you are expecting, this is one item you must get (or include in your baby registry). It will give you the pleasure to have your baby sleep in bed with you safely and allow you and your partner to watch over them while your little angel slowly falls asleep. You can sleep comfortably beside them without worrying about crushing them. It’s super easy to transport the dock’s around your home or travel with them. Plus if they soil the covers, it can be tossed into the washer and dryer for a quick and easy clean. 5504The twins are currently sleeping in the DockATot Delux + Mrs Mighetto covers (Lovely Day and Night, Night). When they outgrow them, which may be sooner than later, we will be getting the DockATot Grand Dock. Told you I’m totally in love with this!

Disclaimer: I don’t encourage you to sleep with your baby if you toss and turn a great deal. I am a very light sleeper and both my husband and I don’t toss and turn when we sleep, hence we feel comfortable sleeping with our babies in bed with us and in their DockATot’s.
