VISITING NAPA VALLEY

If you follow me on snapchat (smittensophie), you know I recently had the opportunity to visit Napa Valley for our babymoon. Napa Valley is so beautiful and reminds me a great deal of Italy. I was in Italy last year and remember falling in love with the rolling hills of greenery during my train ride across the country. We planned on going back this year but with my pregnancy and the temptation of amazing farm to table food, we changed our plans and booked a trip to Napa Valley instead.

I am a city girl at heart and love living in a metropolitan environment, but there is something about Yountville that I can’t help but fall head over heels in love with. Maybe it’s the feeling of the small town, the friendliness of the locals, the beautiful hotel we were staying at, the amazing food or combination of all four but Yountville is definitely a place I plan on coming back to visit in the near the future.

We stayed at the Bardessono Hotel during our time in Yountville, and the welcome we got there was beyond friendly. We were greeted immediately with room service carrying fresh fruits, the most adorable baby onesies for our twins and the sweetest note. It’s amazing how the littlest touches like this makes a huge impact on our stay.

Another huge impact that Napa Valley had on me was waking up every morning and being greeted with hot air balloons overlooking our deck. It’s the only time I felt like waking up minutes before sunrise to see the sky littered with them and hearing the burners go off.This was followed by a morning swim in their rooftop pool that was set at the perfect temperature.  Did I mention that I had the pool all to myself because everyone was busy visiting wineries?

Packing for my trip was pretty difficult, especially now that nothing fits me because of my expanding waistline. Thankfully I picked up this gorgeous shirt dress from Bench right before the trip that fit perfectly (and will become a staple for the next few weeks) and helped me stay cool under the blistering California sun. I love how versatile this shirt is that I could wear it with a pair of jeans, throw a belt on it or my favorite, just wear it simply like that with my chucks.
