BLAZER

Tristan Style, Power Blazer, Tristan, Office ChicNever underestimate the power of a blazer. It adds a polished vibe to any outfit. It can spruce up a casual look, or add a touch of power and elegance to an office look. When you get the perfect blazer that fits like a glove, you feel amazing and confident. You can take on anything!

When I was a kid, I would make sure I would leave my home for school at the same time my next door neighbor would leave her home for work. I would see this woman who exuded power, grace and confidence walking with a take charge attitude to her car. That was the first time I glimpsed the power of the blazer. Fast forward a few years later, when I got my first internship at a tech company, I invested in a gorgeous black blazer. I still have that blazer. It is black with two black buttons at the wrist and a white satin interior. What you don’t know is that I bought my first power blazer from Tristan.5206

Today, I partnered with Tristan to create the quintessential office chic ensemble that will command the attention of everyone at your next boardroom meeting. I started this look with the perfect blazer.

The moment I saw this double breasted blazer, from their Travel Suit collection, hanging on the mannequin, I knew it had to be mine. I fell in love with the cut, color and those gold buttons that add a subtle military chic touch. The moment I put it on, I was a goner. I could see the various ways I could style it – with a cocktail dress, a cute mini skirt, my favorite pair of boyfriend denim and this pair of leather pants I am dying to get back into. The possibilities were endless! And because this is from their Travel Suit Collection, you know this will give me a good excuse to look chic when I travel.

I put together three looks that were perfect for a girl boss, and shared them on Instagram Story. The look that everyone fell head over heels in love with was…Tristan Style , Office Chic, Grey CanvasTo make this girl boss look perfect for late spring/early summer, I paired it with these wide-leg trousers that are incredibly light and stretchy. I love that they hug me from the thighs and go straight down to my ankles, giving the illusion of height and a slim frame. Tristan Style, Blue BlazerNow I don’t know about you, but I live in Toronto and our summer’s can be intense. I mean Nelly singing ‘It’s getting hot here’ intense. To help keep me cool under the blazer, I went for this gorgeous leaves print sleeveless top. The material is light, airy and the print adds a little fun to the overall look.  I’ll admit, I don’t wear a lot of prints, in fact I generally stay clear ofthem because they are so tricky to style. But this print spoke to me the moment I saw it. I originally had a white tee on, but the minute I saw this top on the hanger I grabbed it and swapped it immediately. 5205

Result – the perfect summer chic look for the office and everything was made in CANADA! 5203

With most of our clothes being made overseas, I have to say it’s a joy to find something made in CANADA. I am huge advocate on spending a little extra $$ for quality and longevity. Everything you find at Tristan is made of high quality of fabrics that will stand the test of time, but also the cut and stitching are spot on!

When it comes to my office look, I’ll admit I alternate between two bags that are large enough to carry what I need. For this look, I wore the LV Cluny bag that’s perfect both in the evening and day. After having this bag for a while, I have decided to let it go and ask my friends at Love That Bag to help me find a new home for it. The exterior finish is the classic epi leather with silver hardware. I got this bag because I am a sucker for classic structured bags that will last. I love how sturdy the material is, the magnetic snap closure that keeps my contents safe and secure inside and the fact that it comes with a shoulder strap! This bag is great for any boss lady and if you are interested, let me know or go directly to my friends at Love That Bag.

I am a big fan of blazers. The blazer was part of our school uniform in high school. Whenever, I wear one I am ready to work 🙂 This navy blazer looks perfect on you. Great pairing with the white pants and floral blouse. I agree, I also don’t mind paying a little more for quality clothing. There are so many reasons to buying less by buying better. Kudos, on buying local as well 🙂
