FIDELITY

29052902I recently had the fortunate experience to visit the Fidelity factory and see how they design and customize their denim. It was a once in a lifetime experience where the President of Fidelity denim gave me a tour of all the steps involved in making that perfect pair and how each step is done by hand.2901

Unlike most companies, Fidelity denim is made in house and in the USA, LA specifically. Everything from laying the pattern and cutting it, stitching, rubbing potassium permanganate on it to give it that vintage flair, distressing it with sandpaper and washing it in a stoneĀ bath. Everything is done in house and nothing is outsourced. Oh and did I mention they have also have a vault of all their designs, and I got a chance to take a peak into it!!!2903

The most fascinating takeaway I learned from the tour was that the perfect pair of denim starts with getting the right fabric and dye before anything is done to it. If the material is not right and the color is not on point, it’s tossed. So before they even lay the pattern on the material and cut it out, they make sure that the fabric is perfect to have the brand Fidelity stitched on to the back. Another takeaway I got from the tour was that they take great care in making sure that each denim of a particular style and cut is identical in color and detail ( one pair isn’t lighter than the other and doesn’t have an extra line of distress).2904

As someone who spent a few hours getting my denim customized with paint splatter, dyed in potassium permanganate to age it and have it distressed to add some character and detail, I don’t know how Fidelity does it to make sure each pair is identical in look and feel, but they do it!

Today I want to share with you a pair of custom denim that was gifted to me by the President of Fidelity denim. As someone who loves denim and has been struggling to find the perfect pair because of my growing midsection, the pair I am wearing below is exactly what I needed to feel confident, sexy and unstoppable.

Custom jeans? Amazing. I have always had such a hard time finding a pair of jeans that fit well. At one point I bought men’s jeans and then took them to a tailor to customize them (I have nothing in the back, so men’s worked out better for me). This is a really cool idea.
