Skincare is a big deal for me, especially when you are running low on sleep and have to be constantly looking your best when you step out of the house. Plus, I love indulging and treating myself to a bit of me time while I soak in the tub for a few minutes to unwind and relax before I cal it a night. This months edition of the Beauty Edit, I am focusing on skincare that are essential in helping me look revitalized and refreshed. Now before I share what’s in my cabinet when it comes to skincare, I should let you know that my skin profile is sensitive.
What does this mean?
In a nutshell, my skin is temperamental and goes through an insane amount of mood swings. If I’m not careful with my skincare routine, it doesn’t take me much to start seeing breakouts litter all across my forehead, jawline and my t-zone get all shiny and glossy. Basically it’s no fun and painful when I try and hide my bumps with concealer because my skin feels raw.
There is a silver lining….honest!
After more than ten years of figuring out what works on my skin and what doesn’t, I rarely ever see any breakouts on my skin. Even you can attest to that if you view my Instagram stories. So, let’s begin with my favorite part about skincare that I cannot live without – masks!
DARPHIN
Remember my last Beauty Edit post where I talked about how an esthetician told me I looked like I was in my mid 30s’ when I was only 21! Yeah, I’ll never get over that! Anyway she advised me to use Darphin’s 8 Flower Nectar to help me smooth the lines around my eyes and lips. She warned me about the price tag, but comforted me that it was worth every penny because I would notice a huge difference in my skin’s complexion. Boy was she right!
I have been Darphin ever since and this year I added their Lumière Essentielle Instant Purifying and Illuminating Mask to my collection. This mask basically helps me capture the glow I get from a spa at home in 2 easy steps.
OLE HENRIKSEN
We all know that it takes at least a month for someone to see results on any new skincare product you use, but this is one product with which you will see results instantly. I got the Cold Plunge Pore Mask by Ole Henriksen last week and instantly applied it (I mean the package said to use it immediately, so I did).
Within seconds of applying the mask my face felt a rush of cooling sensation followed by a tingle thanks to the alpine willow herb and snow lotus. It doesn’t take long for the mask to dry. Apply cool water to help melt the mask and your face will have that famous Ole Glow®.
L’OREAL
I always find that there are days when my skin needs heavy duty love and one mask just won’t do the trick. You know what I am talking about, there is the forehead that is feeling oily or the chin that dry and heck and then your cheeks are clogged to the max because you left a bit of makeup behind from last nights shenanigans. I’ve been there and done that too many times to count.
L’Oreal created this new line of masks where you can apply the right mask to combat the specific need of your skin. My favorite out of their collection is the pure clay cleansing mask to clarify and smooth the surface of your skin. I love the mix of 3 clays and yuzu lemon to help me gently lift away any impurities on the surface. This is my go to for my nose and forehead! I usually apply this mask 48 hours before I attend any major events.
What masks are you going to try? Do you have any recommendations for me?
That Cold Plunge Pore Mask by Ole Henriksen looks like a really good one. I’d love to try that myself. Thanks for sharing dear!

Loved this post, masking is the best! I recently started using some Darphin products and I’m also a big fan – I love the way they make my skin feel! I do need to give Ole Hendrickson a go, and these L’Oreal masks are always a winner!
