Smitten Sophie x Between the Racks

Photo Apr 24, 1 50 54 PMI usually wear my favorite distressed denim on my day off, however I have recently become fascinated with this pleated skirt. I previous styled this skirt with a chunky knit, but today I wanted to create a flirty and fun look with a hint of edge.

If you are looking for a skirt that’s chic, fun and feminine, this is it. Plus it’s a no brainer when it comes to styling.

In today’s look I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and go for a look that you wouldn’t usually expect. I went for a feminine skirt and paired with this moto leather jacket to add  a hint of edge. For jackets, I usually wear a size small but for this leather jacket I went for an x-small because I wanted it to always hang open. I have no plans of zipping it up and we all know that leather stretches.

When it came to picking out a top, I wanted something that was feminine and sexy at the same time. This camisole is one of my favorite purchases from last year. I have styled it with practically everything I own in my wardrobe. It’s the perfect top for all occasions. If you are getting this top, I suggest going a size down as they are very loose. I usually wear a size S, but for this camisole I went for an XS. I own the same camisole in black.

When it came to accessories, I kept it very simple. I played up the monochromatic look with this leather bracelet and these black sneakers. The overall look is simple, monochromatic, feminine with a hint of edge.

Speaking of monochromatic look, I wanted to share something special today. A collaboration with a fellow engineer who has an amazing eye for style and finding fab designer finds for less (no jokes!). Morgan Schadegg of Between the Racks and I wanted to share our personal take on how we put together a monochromatic look. Here is a teaser of how she pulled together a monochromatic look.
