And just like that, we have been hit with another snowstorm. Of course, I still have not fully recovered from the first one, despite the fact my house feels like I’m in the subtropics all in an effort to keep the subzero outdoor temperatures at bay. At some point my skin started to get tight and incredibly dry after being exposed to the extreme cold temperatures outdoors and then the heat blasting from the floorboards indoors.
While I was in the bathroom hunting in my cabinet for what could help hydrate my skin, I found this collection of Elizabeth Arden products that was influenced by Korean skincare. I was introduced to this style of skincare a while back and remembered how hydrated my skin felt when I was testing it out. Needless to stay, I was excited to see what the results would be on my face and body. After three weeks of modifying my skin regimen to hydrate it and revive it, the results have been so profound that I had to share it with you. Plus I doubt I am the only one that has been suffering from dry and parched skin.
I switched out my usual cleanser for this gentle creamy number by NARS. I usually use a gel cleanser, but with my skin so dry, this creamy cleanser was perfect to hydrate my skin leaving it feeling soft, soothed and pampered after every use. I use it with my Clarisonic cleansing brush and the combination has been amazing. For only $29, this cleanser gives you a moderate amount of foam and just the right amount of cream to help remove any dirt on the surface.
After week one, I noticed my skin looking brighter and more radiant. By week two, my skin felt incredibly smooth, helping my foundation just glide on. By week three, my skin felt incredibly soft and hydrated.Right after washing off the cleanser, I would grab my toner, PREVAGE Anti-Aging Antioxidant Infusion Essence. Unlike most toners where I would add a few drops on a cotton ball, I would dispense 3-4 drops onto the palm of my hand. After warming it up, I would apply it directly to my face and neck with very minimal pressure. I would then gently press my cheeks using a cupping technique to help stimulate the surface of my skin and hence boost the absorption.
After four days, I noticed a difference in the texture of my skin and how hydrated it felt. The key to soft and firm skin is moisturizing. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. Moisturize everyday and you will keep those fine lines away, at least that’s what my mom told me. With my skin exposed to harsh UVA and UVB rays, the Ceramide Lift and Firm Day Lotion with broad spectrum sunscreen is perfect to hydrate my skin and protect it from the harsh rays.
If you are anything like me, you are incredibly lazy and don’t have the time to apply a mask and wait diligently for it to dry. So I love the concept of applying a mask and going to sleep while it works it magic.
We still have a few weeks of cold temperatures but I am so ready for a change in weather. Thanks to these beauty updates, I know my skin will be protected and look amazing throughout the last leg of the season.
