I love how the new year inspires everyone to make a resolution to start eating and living healthy. In 2008, I made that resolution and inadvertently started a large collection of active-wear, especially leggings since I needed to throw them in for a wash right after each workout.Given my fashion style is generally modest, I wasn’t sure how I would feel about wearing leggings that molded to my body, but then I realized this comfortable piece of garment helped show off all my hard work at the gym and complimented my figure at the same time. So no surprise, it didn’t take me long to feel confident and comfortable wearing my leggings to work. On Fridays I would wear my Lululemon leggings to work because my intramural team would play at noon on campus. I didn’t have the time to change into my leggings before the game, or slip out of them right after. Instead I opted to incorporate them into my everyday style, so I would pair my leggings with ankle booties, a slim fitting shirt and a long sleeveless vest. No one in my office knew I was wearing leggings that were designed to be worn at the gym.
Fast forward a few years later, I am still wearing leggings outside the gym but now have incorporated them for everyday. Like today I went off to meet a friend for coffee at my favorite coffee shop and wore these leggings I nabbed from Bench.’s new arrival selection. Now I bought these leggings at full price, but you can grab the same pair for $32 for the next few days ONLINE only (20% will be applied at checkout)! Another pair of leggings I own from Bench. is this gorgeous pair with a marble print, also $32 ONLINE ONLY for the next few days.
Another item that I am totally loving from Bench. is this versatile and handy leather bag/backpack. This bag is perfect to wear on your back, or carry as a tote (my favorite) and I love that it has a double zipper on it making it perfect for me to carry my Pilates mat to the gym.
When the weather warms up, I can’t wait to add a hint of rocker chic to my leggings with a motorcycle jacket, a long crop top and a pair of strappy heels. Think of Sandy Olsson with a hint of chic.
